Community Service

At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Chicago, we are dedicated to giving back to our community. In 2014 alone, we donated over 1,000 hours of our services to charity in order to help those in need. We have worked with some wonderful organizations, including: The Greater Chicago Food Depository, The Salvation Army, Move For Hunger, Cheeriodicals, Loretto Hospital, and many more.

Examples of Services Donated

The Greater Chicago Food Depository: We drop off collection boxes to over 100 businesses in Downtown Chicago, who are members of BOMA (Business Owners and Managers Association), for the 1 City 1 Food Drive event. At the end of the Drive, we deliver all of the donated food items to the GCFD (Greater Chicago Food Depository). We also have a long history of our employees volunteering at the GCFD and helping them re-pack food donations.

The Salvation Army: We partner up with the Salvation Army around the Holidays to help with their Angel Tree Program. Not only do we participate in the program, buying presents for children in need, but at the end of the program, we visit each collection site and pick up the presents that have been donated and deliver them to the Salvation Army.

Move For Hunger: When our customers are getting ready to move and realize they have extra non-perishable food items that they would like to donate, we give them a box marked with a "Move For Hunger" sticker that can be filled with food donations. At the end of the move, our movers bring the Move For Hunger box back to the office with them to donate to our local food pantry. Last year we donated 590lbs of food to Move For Hunger! That?s enough food to provide over 490 meals to those in need.

Cheeriodicals: This organization offers a unique experience to provide corporations with a "meaningful teambuilding activity". Employees work together to assemble Cheeriodicals, which are big green boxes filled with magazines, amazing edibles and other cheerful surprises. We had the opportunity to help with the assembly of such boxes, along with delivering the 320 Cheeriodicals boxes to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children?s Hospital of Chicago, spreading that joy to the children in the hospital. This was a truly heartwarming experience, and we are looking forward to partnering up with Cheeriodicals again in the future.

Loretto Hospital: Visit with Santa is a wonderful event where the Hospital provides gifts and the opportunity to take a picture with Santa to over 2,000 children. There are even multiple Santa?s at the event to ensure that every child gets a chance to visit with Santa and get their picture taken. We had the privilege of playing our own version of "Santa", and delivering all of the presents to the event.
